Board games
A lifelong passion
Board games have been a huge part of my life since 2012—more than just a hobby, they’ve brought me joy, connection, and probably saved my mental health more than once. I love their ability to create shared experiences and offer a fun alternative to common adult hobbies like drinking or discussing politics. Deduction games and economic puzzles feel too much like chore though.
Lately, I’ve also taken an interest in tabletop role-playing games, because the it's fascinating how the story can unfold in unexpected ways as players interact with each other and the fiction they are in.
Making them mine
As much as I love board games, I don’t always love how they’re packaged or presented. Sometimes a great game comes in an oversized box filled with air, other times a game looks so drab that I am certain it’ll repel anyone I would teach it to.
So I take matters into my own hands to improve the user experience. Some games get a better box and new reference cards, others get stripped down and rebuilt from scratch.
